Income-Based rentals will be available to households earning 60% Median Family Income or less. Applicant’s gross annual income may not exceed the following limits:

Median Family Income 60%:

  • 1-person home may earn no more than $56,220 annually
  • 2-person home may earn no more than $64,260 annually
  • 3-person home may earn no more than $72,300 annually
  • 4-person home may earn no more than $80,280 annually
  • 5-person home may earn no more than $86,760 annually

Median Family Income 80%:

  • 1-person home may earn no more than $72,950 annually
  • 2-person home may earn no more than $83,400 annually
  • 3-person home may earn no more than $93,800 annually
  • 4-person home may earn no more than $104,200 annually
  • 5-person home may earn no more than $112,550 annually

Median Family Income Renewal Max 120%:

  • 1-person home may earn no more than $112,400 annually
  • 2-person home may earn no more than $ 128,450 annually
  • 3-person home may earn no more than $144,500 annually
  • 4-person home may earn no more than $160,550 annually
  • 5-person home may earn no more than $173,400 annually

Maximum Affordable Rent Limits

Below is the City of Austin’s MAXIMUM RENT that can be charged to the tenant.

Median Family Income Unit Rent 60%:

  • Efficiency unit - $1,311
  • 2 Bedroom - $1,499

Median Family Income Unit Rent 80%:

  • Efficiency unit - $1,702
  • 2 Bedroom - $1,946
